The Central Oregon “Green Drink”

Ingredients

  • 10 large celery stalks

  • 5 medium cucumbers

  • 2 large bunches of kale (about 20 leaves), stems removed

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, loosely packed

  • 5 green apples, cored

  • 5 lemons, peeled

  • 2-3 cups filtered water (adjust for desired consistency)

  • Ice for serving (optional)

Instructions

1.Wash all produce thoroughly.

2.Roughly chop the celery, cucumbers, kale, and apples into pieces that will fit through your juicer or blender.

If using a juicer:

1.Feed all ingredients through the juicer, alternating between leafy greens and juicier produce.

2.Stir the finished juice and serve immediately over ice if desired.

If using a blender:

1.Work in batches if necessary.

2.Add water, cucumber, and celery to blender first.

3.Blend until smooth.

4.Add kale, basil, apple, and lemon.

5.Blend until completely smooth.

6.Strain through a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag if preferred.

7.Serve immediately or store in airtight glass containers for up to 24 hours.
